Koller to teach CLE on Shingle Hanging at Jenkins
I started my own firm in April 2009 with two clients I could call my own. Most everyone I knew told me I was crazy. Almost a year later, I look back and realize it was the best decision of my professional life. Now I am here to kick start you to do it if it is something you have been thinking about doing. We will go over the practical and legal requirements you need to take care of in order to hang a shingle in Pennsylvania. We will also go over the ups and downs regarding money management, business accounts, client management, overhead expenses, technology, insurance, and basically how you do it all as a solo. This could be just what you need to start your own law firm! Plus, you will be given honest, candid advice regarding some of the issues and concerns all of us aspiring shingle-hangers think about each day as we contemplate whether now is the time to do it.
Note: I am contributing articles to a new series on YoungLawyerOnline.com about the journey from law firm life to solo practice.
