On March 3, 2010, I taught a course to attorneys aspiring to start their own law firms during this most interesting time in the legal profession. The course was taught at the Jenkins Law Library at 8th and Chestnut Street in Philadelphia. Our classroom was jam-packed with ambitious attorneys and was very well received. We went over the practical and legal requirements attorneys need to take care of in order to hang a shingle in Pennsylvania. We also covered money management, business accounts, client management, overhead expenses, technology, insurance and basically how you do it all as a solo. Hopefully it encouraged at least one person who was considering making the move to actually go for it. Jenkins invited me back for another seminar in the fall. I am looking forward to it.!
